im a White South African and proud of it....does that make me a racist i dont think so. If only the rest of the world knew what it is like here. The only thought that comes into their minds is apartheid. So am i as a 24yr old male to blame for apartheid????? Its like judging a German because of the Nazi regime. Our political situation at the moment is pretty funny things are turning sour here but i for one will never leave:)

Ceembee, you're so right, im South African too, born and raised, just moved to the Netherlands, the news here shows none of the real issues in SA, no one knows or even cares about Jacob Zuma, they just see a white person from south africa and talk about apartheid. One of the biggest reasons i moved from SA is to get away from the racism, but everyone just assumes i am an afrikaans rascist. South African politics is fucking ridiculous.

i thought the colonials established infrastructure in some of africa. i live in south africa and all our infrastructure up untill recently has been build by whites... well commissioned. and politics is a very unstable place, weather you are black, white, indian, japanese or whatever. if you are a politician you are corrupt over-paid scum. And i personally don't think much will change when obama come into rule.
and unless you live in an african country, you have no idea how our countries work and what our people are like, especially our politics. prime example: do the americans even know or care who jacob zuma is?

Thandile: There has not been a whole lot of peace and stability over here in quite a while under the current leadership (said this Republican)

first - jamesrau... as long as america likes to conciders itself leader of the free world, you will have to live with the rest of the world having an opinion about your leadership... (me being german and therefore gouverned by a woman - you might give that a try too one day ;) )
second - thandile: comparing apples and oranges... the only countries with black leader so far were african, destabilized by centuries of european/american colinializm and interference... that doesn't say anything about black leadership....

Face the facts. There is not a single country in the world with a black president, where there is peace and stability.
