I also use linux not only on End User level, and it is possible to infect linux with any threat including malware.
You can't be never sure that your system is not infected even if you wrote and compiled all the code. You can write malicious software for any system that is able to run programs.

And the joke from the picture does make sense. :)

Hey, Ballmer! Stop spreading lies about Linux! Linux is a more of an End User-product than Windows ever ever ever will be! Easy to install, easy to use and impossible to infect with malware!
