It doesn't say U.S., it says America, as in the continent, like Europe is a continent, not a country. The U.S. is the United States of America the continent. Canada and Mexico are part of North America, and Pretty much the rest of the world refers to North and South America as the Americas, or America, and the United States and the U.S.

Uh ... The hockey riots were in Canada. Not the US. Get your heads out of your asses. And the only place Canada has ever attacked was the US. Burnt down Washington DC.

Imperial Japan occasionally attacked China and some Islands in the Pacific. WW2 Japan went after both, plus US as well, in a (rather disproportionate) retaliation for occasional harassment by the US Navy. Post-WW2 Japan is a democracy and has so far attacked no one. Meanwhile, the US has been attacking third world countries almost nonstop since the late 19th century. Just to put things into historical perspective.
