Could be artifical feathers, or feathers taken from dead peacocks.
Just how many cocks had their peas pinched to make that extravagance? It's beautiful, I just can't picture denuding that many beautiful birds.

It is funny how Western countries kill millions of cows and other animals for food, abuse cows and horses for your fun activities like rodeos, but yet when some other culture decided to something with animals, it is gross.... irony.
